Description:

Teacher candidates explore the nature of language and literacy development in the junior and intermediate divisions with a focus on the integrative nature of language processes across the curriculum: listening, reading, viewing, speaking, writing, representing (including multimodal). Candidates examine and interrogate language curricula with an emphasis on materials, resources, and strategies that meet the diverse needs of today's literacy learners, and consider the role of adolescent/young adult literature, multiple text forms, and drama.
