Program Requirements:
Diploma Requirements
The program consists of two summer sessions to be held at Nipissing University in North Bay, online courses held during the fall, winter and spring sessions, and two in-school internships.

- EDUC 1456: Anishnaabemwin Language 1
- EDUC 1446: Ojibwe Team Teaching 1
- EDUC 1546: Anishnaabemwin Language Methodologies 1
- EDUC 4716: Legal and Social Foundations of Education
- EDUC 4726: Diversity and Inclusion
- EDUC 4736: Introduction to Curriculum Design and Teaching
- EDUC 4776: Special Needs of Students
- EDUC 4947: Understanding Indigenous Pedagogies
At the end Part 1, successful students can apply to the Ontario College of Teachers to be eligible to receive a Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration that allows you to teach for up to six years. Students must complete your program within six years and must also maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers during this time by paying the annual membership fee.
Internship One
Students enroll in EDUC 4714 Practicum I. Students are placed in a primary, junior, intermediate and/or senior division classroom. TASL students are required to successfully complete an internship session in all four divisions.
Successful students will be reported to the Ontario College of Teachers for a Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration with the credential: Native Language Teacher Certification Program.
