Bachelor of Education (BEd)-Consecutive

Graduation Requirements:

In addition to the program requirements listed below, students must also satisfy the Bachelor of Education degree requirements. Please refer to the Degree Requirement section for further information.


Program Requirements:

The Schulich School of Education offers a two-year consecutive program (after degree program) leading to a Bachelor of Education degree. In order to be admissible to this degree, students must possess or be graduating with an undergraduate degree. Please refer to the Admissions section for further details.

Program Requirements

All Divisions

Students in all divisions must complete the following required cross-divisional program requirements:

EDUC 4716 Legal and Social Foundations of Education 3 cr.
EDUC 4726 Diversity and Inclusion 3 cr.
EDUC 4736 Introduction to Curriculum Design and Teaching 3 cr.
EDUC 4746 Assessment, Evaluation and Communication of Student Learning 3 cr.
EDUC 4756 Curriculum Design and Inquiry 3 cr.
EDUC 4766 Technology Enriched Teaching and Learning (TETL) 3 cr.
EDUC 4776 Special Needs of Students 3 cr.
EDUC 4714 Practicum I 3 cr.
EDUC 4855 Practicum II 5 cr.
EDUC 4858 Community Leadership Experience 1 cr.

Primary and Junior Divisions

Students must complete the following required divisional program requirements:

EDUC 4717 Language and Literacies for the Primary and Junior Divisions 3 cr.
EDUC 4727 Emergent and Early Literacy for the Primary and Junior Divisions 3 cr.
EDUC 4737 Health and Physical Education for the Primary and Junior Divisions 3 cr.

EDUC 4757 Music for the Primary and Junior Divisions 3 cr.
EDUC 4767 Science and Technology for the Primary and Junior Divisions 3 cr.
