Description:
This course provides an introduction to the chemistry, structure, and function of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Topics include basic metabolism of carbohydrates and fats, with emphasis on the biochemical fluctuations that occur in human health and disease; an introduction to enzymes; DNA replication and protein synthesis; and molecular genetics.
